Green Morocco Plan: The BP will free up 20 billion dirhams
The "Banque Populaire" has committed to freeing up a budget of 20 billion dirhams in the framework of the Filahi Program, with the objective of supporting the Green Morocco Plan, announced the bank president, Mr. Mohamed Benchaaboun.
While presenting the "Filahi Program for green regions" in Beni Mellal (on Tuesday), Mr. Benchaaboun emphasized that the Bank's plan consists of investment financing solutions that are flexible and adaptable to the specificities of each sector, with credit options specific to the financing of the farming cycle and to diversified products in support of the development of international markets and other daily, high-technology services.
Mr. Benchaaboun explained that the Filahi program consists of a complete range of services destined to support the different agricultural sectors by proposing an ensemble of banking service packages that consider their expectations.
Adapted to imperatives for the growth and productivity of strategic agricultural sectors, this program targets the following sectors: cereals, oil production, market produce, red meat, citrus fruits, milk honey and purchase and installation of hydro-agricultural equipment.
In fact, Mr. Benchaaboun has highlighted the Green Morocco Plan, particularly its objectives of increasing added value in the modern sector, and of bringing up to level the traditional sector, all within a global and integrated vision.
For his part, the "wali" of the Tadla-Azilal region and the governor of the Beni Mellal Province, Mr. Mohamed Dardouri, spoke in detail, enumerating the agricultural potentialities of the region and underlining the positive impact that the Green Morocco Plan would have on the local agricultural sector.
The Plan will allow for the doubling of agricultural production, the boosting of revenues for the sector and the creation additional jobs, especially since the existing potentialities are insufficiently exploited, explained Mr. Dardouri.
On this occasion, Mr. Dardouri also underlined the necessity of mobilizing all of the local actors to help make the Plan a success. One of the main elements consists of creating wealth through the filling of gaps, in terms of both production and value enhancement.
"The Regional Agricultural Plan will strengthen regional accomplishments," he said. (Translated)
