H. M. the King presiding during the grand opening of the First National Agriculture Conference in Meknes where his Majesty was presented the "Green Morocco Plan," a strategy to modernize the sector, by the Minister of Agriculture.
The opening ceremony was marked by a speech pronounced before H.M. the King by the Minister of Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries, Aziz Akhannouch, where the Minister presented the major trends of the national agricultural development strategy. Six fundamental ideas were retained as the foundation of this strategy, baptised “Green Morocco Plan,” and developed in accordance with the High Orders of H. M. the King. These ideas proceed from the conviction that the agricultural sector will be the main force of economic growth for the national economy over the next fifteen years and that this is possible by breaking away from the traditional conception that made a clear distinction between modern agriculture and social agriculture, explained the Minister.
